The Celestron EclipSmart Solar Filter for 6-Inch SCT is a full-aperture white-light solar filter made specifically for compatible Celestron 6-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The scratch-resistant polymer filter meets ISO 12312-2:2015(E) and produces an orange image of the Sun.
Designed for Celestron 6-Inch SCTs
The 174mm internal diameter fits the front cell of the compatible Celestron models listed below. Do not assume fit from aperture alone: measure the actual telescope and confirm the retaining straps can be secured before pointing towards the Sun.
White-Light Solar Observation
The filter is intended for viewing the solar photosphere, including the solar disc, larger sunspots and eclipse progress. It does not provide hydrogen-alpha chromosphere or prominence views.
Secure Full-Aperture Fit
Two 1 × 4-inch hook-and-loop straps and four 1 × 1-inch tabs help secure the filter to the telescope. Fit and test the filter indoors before use, cover or remove all finder devices, and ensure it cannot be accidentally knocked or blown off.
ISO-Compliant Filter Material
The American Paper Optics polymer filter material is stated by Celestron to meet ISO 12312-2:2015(E). Safe use depends on the complete assembly remaining intact, undamaged and correctly secured.
Inspect Before Every Session
Do not use the filter if the film or housing is scratched, torn, punctured, separated or otherwise damaged. Discard a damaged filter; do not attempt a temporary repair.

Critical Solar Safety
Never point a telescope towards the Sun until this filter has been inspected, fitted over the full front aperture and secured so it cannot be removed accidentally.
Inspect the filter in good light before every use. Do not use it if the film, housing or retaining system is scratched, punctured, torn, loose, separated or otherwise damaged. Cover or remove every finder device. Never use an eyepiece solar filter and never project an image of the Sun.
