Solar observation requires the correct undamaged filter to be securely fitted and used exactly as specified by its manufacturer. Some continuum, calcium and narrowband filters are secondary components and require an approved primary solar filter, blocking filter or energy-rejection system. Never look at the Sun through unfiltered optics.
