The SVBONY SV186 provides a mechanical connection between a suitable eyepiece and a camera adapter. It clamps around the eyepiece body and presents a male T2 thread, M42 × 0.75, for the camera side of your setup. A compatible camera-specific T-ring is required separately when connecting a DSLR or mirrorless camera body.
Available in three sizes, it is a practical option for exploring photography through a compatible telescope or spotting scope eyepiece. The eyepiece stays in the optical path, so choosing the right clamp size and checking camera spacing are essential.
Choose the correct size
Measure the eyepiece’s outside diameter at the point where the adapter will clamp. The size refers to this body measurement. Choose the variant whose listed fitting range matches your measured eyepiece.

A rubber eyecup, tapered housing or moving zoom collar can affect where the adapter can grip. Check that your eyepiece offers a suitable secure clamping surface.

Camera compatibility and focusing
Select a T2 ring that matches your camera’s actual lens mount. Camera-brand names alone are insufficient to establish a fit: different DSLR and mirrorless mounts require different camera-side adapters. The SV186’s T2 connection does not itself provide the camera bayonet.
Mechanical attachment and correct focus both need checking. Your eyepiece, camera and available spacing determine whether the system reaches focus; an additional connection adapter or a change in camera spacing may be needed. Support the camera while fitting it and use a suitable tripod or mount for the assembled setup.
