Extra height and clearance for your tripod setup
The DCS Photo Tripod Extension Set raises a compatible tripod head or mount above the tripod platform, giving you more room to position your equipment. Its modular design lets you choose a shorter setup or add extension sections when you need greater height.
With a 3/8-inch male connection at the top and a 3/8-inch female connection at the base, the kit is intended for photographic and astronomy equipment with matching mounting interfaces.

Choose the height that suits your equipment
The set includes a main extension and two additional tubes. Fit the sections needed for your setup using the configurations below.
| Configuration | Approximate assembled height |
|---|---|
| Main extension | 215 mm |
| With the shorter additional extension | 320 mm |
| With the longer additional extension | 370 mm |
| With both additional extensions | 470 mm |

Practical, modular construction
- Aluminium construction: black extension tubes with silver end fittings.
- Removable top platform: separates from the main body for access during setup.
- Threaded extension sections: configure the kit for the height you need.
- Hand-operated fittings: scalloped collars and thumbscrews provide accessible grip.
Check the mounting connection
Your tripod needs a suitable 3/8-inch male mounting stud to connect to the kit's base, and the head or mount above it needs a matching female connection. Check the mounting surfaces, thread engagement and clearance as well as the thread size.
Mounts with proprietary bases, locating pins or recessed fittings may need a dedicated adapter. A matching thread size alone does not guarantee fit. If you are unsure, contact Dark Clear Skies with your tripod and mount models before ordering.
