What we compare
To make a fair comparison, we check:
- the exact product model and variant;
- whether the item is new, ex-display, refurbished, returned or second-hand;
- whether the competitor offer is a bundle or camera-only / telescope-only product;
- current stock and availability;
- whether VAT is included;
- promotion dates, voucher requirements or other conditions;
- delivery charges where they materially change the total price.
What happens next?
We will tell you whether we can improve our offer, match the current UK price, or whether the competing listing is not directly comparable. We do not automatically promise to match every advertised price because manufacturer pricing rules, limited promotions, clearance items and stock status can differ.
Why exact matching matters
A lower headline price is not always the same offer. Astronomy cameras can be sold as camera-only products or with filter wheels and OAG bundles. Telescopes may include or exclude reducers, flatteners, tripods, test reports or accessories. Customer returns and ex-display items should also be compared separately from new stock.
