The Celestron 114LCM combines a 114mm Newtonian reflector with a motorised GoTo mount and NexStar+ hand control. Celestron's SkyAlign procedure helps new observers align the telescope using three bright objects, after which the mount can locate and track targets selected from its 40,000-object database.
With the largest aperture in the LCM range, the 114LCM is designed for exploring lunar craters, the planets, double stars, bright star clusters, nebulae and other accessible deep-sky objects. Two 1.25-inch eyepieces, a built-on StarPointer red-dot finder and a full-height aluminium tripod are included.

Computerised GoTo Mount with NexStar+ Control
The supplied NexStar+ hand control provides direct access to a database of approximately 40,000 celestial objects. Select a target and the motorised altazimuth mount automatically slews towards it. Sidereal, solar and lunar tracking rates help keep the selected object centred as it moves across the sky.
If you are unsure what to observe, Sky Tour generates a list of suitable objects visible from your location and observing time. The hand control is flash-upgradeable using Celestron's firmware software.

Simple SkyAlign Setup
SkyAlign is designed to simplify the initial alignment process. Centre three bright objects in the eyepiece and follow the instructions shown on the hand control. The system then calculates its orientation and becomes ready to locate targets.
Additional alignment choices include Auto Two-Star Align, One-Star Align, Two-Star Align and Solar System Align, allowing the setup procedure to be adapted to the observing conditions.
114mm Newtonian Reflector
The fully coated 114mm Newtonian optical system has a 1000mm focal length and f/8.77 focal ratio. Its 114mm aperture provides 265 times the light-gathering power of the unaided human eye, giving useful views of the Moon and planets together with brighter clusters, nebulae and galaxies under suitable skies.
Celestron specifies a spherical primary mirror for this model. The eyepiece fits directly into the Newtonian focuser; a star diagonal is neither required nor included.

Two Eyepieces Included
The included 25mm eyepiece provides 40x magnification for locating objects and viewing larger targets. Change to the supplied 9mm eyepiece for 111x magnification when observing the Moon, planets and smaller objects in greater detail.
The built-on StarPointer projects a red aiming dot against the sky, helping you centre bright alignment objects before completing the computerised alignment.

Adjustable Full-Height Tripod
The aluminium tripod arrives preassembled and its legs extend to a comfortable observing height. A quick-release accessory tray braces the tripod and provides a convenient place for eyepieces and small accessories. The optical tube, motorised mount and tripod separate for transportation.

Power and Optional Connectivity
The mount operates from eight user-supplied AA alkaline batteries or an optional suitable Celestron 12V AC adapter. Batteries and an external power supply are not included.
Normal operation uses the supplied NexStar+ hand control. Wireless control requires a compatible optional SkyPortal Wi-Fi Module; Wi-Fi is not built into the 114LCM.

Solar Safety
Warning: Never look directly at the Sun through this telescope without a suitable certified full-aperture solar filter securely fitted over the front aperture.
Never use an eyepiece solar filter or Herschel wedge with this telescope and never project an image of the Sun. Unfiltered sunlight can cause permanent and irreversible eye injury and can damage the telescope.
Do not leave the telescope unattended when children or anyone unfamiliar with correct solar-observing procedures is present.
