Bring your telescopes onto the same target
The Dark Clear Skies Dual-Axis Telescope Alignment Saddle is designed for adjusting the relative pointing of two telescopes in a dual-scope setup. It gives you a dedicated mechanical adjustment stage for bringing their fields of view into alignment.

Practical adjustment for a dual-scope rig
- Dual-axis alignment: adjust the relative direction of your optical systems when setting up a shared target.
- Large fluted knobs: prominent hand controls give a clear grip when making adjustments.
- Flexible mounting arrangement: combine the tilt adjuster with compatible dovetail plates and clamps, available separately.
- Machined adjustment mechanism: the main adjuster components use 6061 aluminium, with stainless-steel hardware.
Dovetail plates and clamps
Dovetail plates and clamps are available separately. Choose the mounting hardware to suit your telescope and mount; the illustrated arrangement shows one possible setup.
Plan your mounting arrangement
Match the saddle to your telescope mounting hardware before ordering. Please send us the make and model of your mounting plate or tandem bar, together with your telescope and accessory weight, so we can help confirm the required arrangement. Thread sizes, hole spacing and load suitability must match your specific setup.

What this adjustment is for
Use this saddle to align telescope pointing. Matching the pointing of two telescopes can help bring their targets into the same part of the image, but the final field overlap also depends on each telescope's focal length, camera sensor size and camera orientation.
The adjustments control telescope pointing. Camera-sensor tilt within an imaging train requires a separate sensor tilt corrector.
