Explore the Milky Way in infrared

The ToupTek GPM662M Infrared Milky Way Set pairs the monochrome guide camera with a 2.8mm f/2 CS-mount lens and LP825 infrared-pass filter. Capture broad areas of the night sky without a telescope, then reconfigure the camera for autoguiding when needed.

ToupTek GPM662M Infrared Milky Way Set with lens and filter

What makes this set different?

You get the GPM662M camera plus the lens, infrared filter and filter adapter ring. The LP825 filter selects near-infrared light for monochrome sky imaging. It can reduce the effects of visible artificial lighting, although results still depend on sky conditions, exposure and processing.

ToupTek infrared Milky Way accessory set

Set up for wide-field imaging

Follow the illustrated lens-installation sequence below, secure the camera with a suitable clamp and tripod, then connect it to your computer or compatible controller. Focus on stars and adjust exposure to suit your sky. Stacking exposures and applying dark frames can improve the finished image.

The camera needs capture software and a USB connection. A tripod, mounting clamp and computer or controller are sold separately.

A guide camera as well

For telescope guiding, reconfigure the front adapters and fit the camera to a compatible guide scope or off-axis guider. Guiding software calculates corrections; use the ST4 connection when guiding through your mount’s guide port.
