Omegon Pro APO 106/700 Triplet ED FCD-100
The Omegon Pro APO AP 106/700 Triplet ED FCD-100 combines serious light-gathering ability with premium colour correction in a highly capable apochromatic refractor for both astrophotography and visual astronomy.
At the heart of the telescope is a 106mm air-spaced triplet objective incorporating premium HOYA FCD-100 ED glass. Its exceptionally low dispersion helps deliver sharp, high-contrast views with excellent control of chromatic aberration.
With a 700mm focal length and f/6.6 focal ratio, the 106/700 offers a versatile balance between field of view, resolution and image scale – equally at home capturing detailed deep-sky images or providing crisp observations of the Moon and planets.

HOYA FCD-100 Triplet Optics
The optical quality begins with the air-spaced triplet objective. Its premium FCD-100 ED element has extremely low dispersion, helping bring different wavelengths of light to a common focus and dramatically reducing unwanted colour fringing.
This produces the clean, neutral star colours and high contrast expected from a premium APO. Bright stars remain controlled while subtle lunar, planetary and deep-sky detail can be rendered with excellent clarity.
For astrophotographers, the improved colour correction also means cleaner raw data and less work correcting chromatic artefacts during processing.
106mm Aperture – Portable but Powerful
A 106mm objective provides considerably more light-gathering ability than smaller travel refractors while retaining the convenience and simplicity of a high-quality APO.
The combination of 106mm aperture and 700mm focal length makes this an extremely versatile telescope. Nebulae, galaxies, lunar detail and planetary targets are all comfortably within its capabilities.
The optical tube also incorporates internal baffles to suppress unwanted stray light and improve contrast during both visual observing and long-exposure imaging.
3.5-Inch Focuser for Serious Imaging Equipment
A premium optical system needs a focuser capable of supporting a complete imaging train. The Omegon 106/700 therefore uses a substantial 3.5-inch rack-and-pinion focuser combining smooth movement with excellent mechanical stability.
Its specified load capacity is up to 10kg, providing ample capacity for larger astronomy cameras, filter wheels, off-axis guiders and other imaging accessories.
A 1:10 fine-focus reduction allows very small focusing adjustments – particularly useful when achieving critical focus during astrophotography.
Designed for APS-C and Full-Frame Imaging Systems
The large focuser provides the clear aperture required by demanding imaging systems and is designed to accommodate cameras ranging from APS-C through to full-frame configurations.
In addition to the conventional 2-inch connection with 1.25-inch reducer, an internal M63x1 female threaded connection provides a secure threaded attachment point for compatible flatteners, reducers and imaging accessories.
The telescope provides a generous 155mm backfocus, giving astrophotographers considerable flexibility when configuring an imaging train.
Practical Mounting and Accessory System
The telescope is supplied with robust CNC-machined tube clamps and a Vixen-style mounting rail for straightforward attachment to compatible equatorial mounts.
The integrated carrying handle makes handling the OTA easier and also provides a useful mounting position for accessories such as a guide scope or other imaging equipment.
A retractable dew shield helps control dew and unwanted stray light while keeping the telescope more compact for transport.
