Omegon Pro APO 110/660 ED with EQ570DX GoTo

The Omegon Pro APO 110/660 ED with EQ570DX GoTo combines a fast 110mm ED apochromatic refractor with Omegon's EQ570DX computer-controlled equatorial mount, creating a capable system for both visual astronomy and astrophotography.

110mm ED Apochromatic Optics

The Pro APO uses a 110mm two-element ED objective built around a combination of OHARA FPL-53 and S-NBM51 glass. This carefully selected glass combination is designed to provide excellent colour correction, high contrast and sharp stellar images.

The 110mm aperture gives the telescope considerably more light-gathering ability than smaller travel refractors while retaining the compact dimensions associated with a relatively fast apochromatic refractor.

All optical surfaces are multi-coated, while an internal baffle system helps suppress stray light and unwanted reflections. The supplied specifications give a light-gathering capacity of 250 and maximum useful magnification of 220x.

The included Omegon EQ570DX provides a stable equatorial platform with a specified 15kg load capacity. This provides useful capacity for the telescope itself together with compatible observing or imaging equipment.

Rather than manually searching the sky, the mount's GoTo system can automatically move the telescope to a selected celestial object. This makes it easier to locate targets and allows more observing time to be spent at the eyepiece or camera.

The mount uses stepper motors, a worm-wheel drive and toothed-belt pre-drive. The belt system is particularly useful for providing smooth movement and tracking during astrophotography.
