Build your deep-sky system around a 600mm focal length in a short, 530mm metal tube. The StellaLyra 6-inch f/4 combines a parabolic primary mirror with a manual dual-speed Crayford focuser, supplied mounting hardware and an optical finder.
Choose it when you want to assemble and tune your own camera-based telescope, with room in the plan for a suitable mount and corrector.

Start with the targets you want to photograph.
Your camera sensor and the telescope’s focal length determine how much sky fits in a frame. Before ordering, use a field-of-view planner with your actual camera and a few favourite nebulae, clusters or galaxies. Some subjects will fit comfortably; others will need a mosaic or a different focal length.
This is a useful way to choose a telescope deliberately. Think about the images you want to make, the equipment you can carry and the time you want to spend setting up.

A short tube, with the mounting basics included.
Tube rings and a Vixen-style rail provide the connection to a compatible saddle. The published 5.3kg weight includes the rings, rail and finder.
Allow for everything you will add: camera, corrector, filters, guiding equipment and cables. Select a mount for the complete imaging load and your exposure plans. Once assembled, balance the rig with the camera fitted and check clearance as the telescope moves around the sky.

Fine focus where it matters.
The 2-inch linear-bearing Crayford focuser has coarse and fine controls. Use the coarse adjustment to approach focus, then refine it while watching a focus measurement or taking short test exposures.
Support the camera while fitting it, secure the connections and route cables so they cannot tug on the imaging train. Recheck focus after the system settles and as conditions change. If you plan to add a motor, confirm the bracket and coupling fit before buying.
Budget for a coma corrector from the start.
A compatible coma corrector is needed for optimum photographic results with this fast Newtonian. The corrector is a separate purchase, along with the camera and adapters.
There are two checks to make: the spacing from corrector to sensor, and whether the assembled system reaches focus. Follow the corrector manufacturer’s spacing instructions and include any filter drawer or wheel in the measurement. A shared barrel size alone does not establish compatibility.

An optical finder for getting on target.
The included 8×50 straight-through finder gives you a separate view for pointing the telescope. Align it with the main telescope before relying on it at night.
A finder is not a complete autoguiding system. If guiding is part of your plan, allow for the guide camera, suitable connections and control equipment, or a separate guiding arrangement matched to your rig.
Make the first session a setup session.
Check collimation after transport with an appropriate alignment tool. Then focus on a star field and examine a short exposure at the centre and corners before starting a long sequence.
If the stars look uneven, work through focus, collimation, camera tilt and corrector spacing methodically. Change one thing at a time and keep notes. A repeatable setup routine makes future sessions easier and helps separate optical adjustments from tracking problems.

Can I use it with eyepieces?
Yes. The supplied extension and adapter support visual configurations, but eyepieces are purchased separately. Tell us which eyepieces you intend to use so the complete arrangement can be checked.
Does it track the sky automatically?
No. Tracking comes from the separately purchased mount. This listing is for the optical tube and the included accessories, so budget for the mounting and control system as well.
Is this the carbon-fibre version?
No. This is the metal-tube M-LRN with a Crayford focuser. Check the full model name when comparing the range, as tube construction and focuser specifications differ.
