Description

Add a dedicated sulphur-II channel to your nebula imaging. The SVBONY SV160 2-inch SII 7nm filter isolates a narrow band around 672nm, helping separate sulphur emission from unwanted background light. This is the 2-inch W9122B version, supplied as one mounted filter.

SVBONY SV160 2-inch SII 7nm narrowband filter, W9122B

A filter for narrowband astrophotography

The SV160 is designed for photographing deep-sky objects with SII emission. Its 7nm passband suppresses much of the surrounding spectrum, including unwanted light associated with skyglow and artificial lighting.

Use it to capture a separate SII exposure sequence, or alongside suitable H-alpha and OIII filters when building a multi-channel narrowband image. The filter improves spectral isolation; it does not increase the amount of light emitted by your target.

Key features

  • 7nm SII passband: centred around 672nm.
  • Infrared blocking: specified cut-off across 700–1100nm.
  • 2-inch mounted format: intended for compatible 2-inch filter holders and accessories.
  • Coated optical glass: ion-assisted multilayer coatings in a metal filter cell.
  • Protective storage: supplied in a plastic case.

Choosing the right size

Choose W9122B when your imaging setup accepts a mounted 2-inch filter. Before ordering, check your filter wheel or drawer's supported diameter, mounting style and clearance. A holder designed for an unmounted filter may not accept a mounted filter of a similar nominal size.

Need the smaller version? See the separate SVBONY SV160 1.25-inch SII 7nm filter, W9122A.

Using the SV160 in your setup

With the equipment powered down as appropriate, fit the filter to a compatible holder, taking care not to touch the glass. Check clearance and secure the holder before imaging. Refocus after changing filters rather than assuming your previous focus position will be correct.

Plan your exposures around the target and camera. A narrowband filter passes a restricted part of the spectrum, so it is not a general replacement for a broadband filter.

What is included?

  • One SVBONY SV160 2-inch SII 7nm filter, W9122B.
  • Plastic protective storage case.

Other filters, filter wheels, drawers and cameras are sold separately.
