The SVBONY SV505C is a high-performance colour planetary astronomy camera designed for fast capture and high sensitivity. At full resolution, the SV505C achieves frame rates of up to 93 frames per second, allowing more data to be captured in a shorter time. This is particularly useful during poor seeing conditions, where brief moments of stability can be exploited efficiently.
With a quantum efficiency of approximately 80%, the SV505C offers excellent sensitivity, especially in low-light environments. Its strong performance in the near-infrared spectrum delivers a high signal-to-noise ratio, making it well suited for detailed imaging of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon, and other Solar System targets.
The camera features a 1/1.8″ sensor with a chip size of 7.9 mm × 4.5 mm. This provides nearly twice the photosensitive area of the SV305 Pro, allowing a larger field of view to be captured when used with the same telescope.
