Plan the view around your camera
A telescope’s focal length is only half the framing decision: your camera’s sensor size determines how much sky fits in each image. Before choosing a target, check its angular size against the field of view of your intended telescope and camera combination.
For deep-sky photography, build the setup around a suitable tracking mount. Include the camera, guidescope, cables and other accessories when assessing the load. Precise manual focusing
The coarse adjustment brings the image close to focus, while the 10:1 fine control helps you make the final small corrections. Adjust the focuser tension to suit your attached equipment.

Camera connections and autofocus upgrades
A threaded adapter does not make every camera a direct fit. DSLR and mirrorless bodies may require a camera-specific T-ring; astronomy cameras may need additional adapters or spacers. Filter drawers and wheels also add optical length.
Before ordering adapters, confirm the thread sizes, available focus range and requirements of your complete imaging train. Is the objective a triplet?
The objective is an ED doublet. The third optical element provides field flattening elsewhere in the optical system.
Do I need to buy an autofocus motor immediately?
You can begin with manual focusing. Autofocus becomes useful when you want software to refocus during a session; check the motor, bracket and control-system requirements before choosing an upgrade.
