The Celestron Origin Padded Telescope Bag is shaped specifically for the 6-inch RASA optical tube used by the Origin Intelligent Home Observatory. Its triple-layer construction protects the tube during storage and transport while keeping the package practical to carry between home, vehicle and observing site.

Durable Triple-Layer Construction

The outer shell uses hard-wearing 900-denier polyester treated to resist weather and scratches. A thick layer of EPE foam cushions the telescope tube, while the soft internal fabric helps protect its painted and moulded surfaces during routine handling.

The bag is water resistant rather than waterproof. It should not be left exposed to prolonged rain, standing water or saturated ground, and the optical tube should be dry before storage.

Two Quick Loading Methods

For vertical loading, stand the bag upright, open the circular end zip and lower the optical tube into place. For full access, lay the bag horizontally and open both the end and side zips. These two arrangements make it easier to pack or remove the tube without forcing it through a narrow opening.

Comfortable Carrying Options

Use the pair of sewn-in handles for a close, controlled grip or attach the padded adjustable strap for shoulder carrying. The bag measures 711mm long externally and weighs 2.08kg before the telescope tube is added, so users should assess the combined lifting weight and route before transport.

Compatibility and Important Limitations

This bag is specified for the Celestron Origin 6-inch RASA optical tube only. It is not stated to hold the Origin single-arm mount or tripod. Celestron recommends separate suitable storage for those components.

Remove loose accessories and cables before placing the tube in the bag. Always secure every zip and support the bag properly when lifting.
