The Celestron AstroMaster LT 60AZ Refractor Telescope is a compact entry-level refractor supplied with a full-height steel tripod, two eyepieces and a built-on StarPointer red-dot finderscope. Its fully coated optics and simple manual mount make it a practical first telescope for visual observing.
The compact 60mm optical tube is suited to first views of the Moon, brighter planets, double stars and bright star clusters. Its manual altazimuth mount is straightforward to point and requires no alignment, batteries or external power.
60mm Fully Coated Refractor Optics
The optical tube combines a 60mm aperture with a 700mm focal length and f/12 focal ratio. Celestron specifies fully coated optics, a limiting stellar magnitude of 11.4 and light-gathering power 73× compared with the unaided eye.
Manual Altazimuth Mount
The mount moves up and down and left to right for straightforward pointing. It is entirely manual: there is no GoTo object finding, motor drive or automatic tracking.
The adjustable tripod uses 31.75mm steel legs and includes an accessory tray. The published complete kit weight is 3.22kg (7.1lb).
Two Eyepieces and StarPointer Finder
The supplied 20mm eyepiece provides 35× magnification, while the 10mm eyepiece provides 70×. The built-on StarPointer red-dot finderscope helps centre a target before viewing it through the main telescope.
A 1.25-inch 90° star diagonal is supplied for a more comfortable viewing position. The view remains mirror reversed from left to right. A Barlow lens is not stated as included.
Observing with the AstroMaster LT
Start with the lower-power 20mm eyepiece to locate and centre a target, then change to the 10mm eyepiece when atmospheric conditions support more magnification. Actual detail depends on atmospheric steadiness, light pollution, target altitude and correct focus.
The stated highest useful magnification is an optical limit, not a promise that every observing session will support that power. Lower and moderate magnifications often provide the clearest view.
Portable No-Tool Setup
The optical tube attaches to the mount with a CG-5 dovetail bar. The mount and tripod arrive preassembled, allowing the telescope to be set up without tools. Celestron does not state a separate boxed shipping weight.

Solar Safety
Warning: Never look directly at the Sun through this telescope without a correctly fitted, certified full-aperture solar filter.
Permanent and irreversible eye damage can occur. Never use an eyepiece-type solar filter and never project an image of the Sun through the telescope. Unfiltered sunlight can damage the optics and accessories.
Never leave the telescope unattended, especially when children are present.
