The StellaLyra 6-inch f/5 combines a 150mm parabolic mirror and 750mm focal length with a 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser. It is an optical tube for a separately chosen mount, with the flexibility to support visual observing and a planned camera setup.
Choose it when you want one telescope around which to develop your observing interests, while keeping the mounting and accessory choices in your own hands.

Choose your first setup around how you will use it.
For visual observing, start with a stable mount and a small selection of suitable eyepieces. For long-exposure imaging, plan a tracking mount, camera, corrector and adapters as a complete system.
These routes share the optical tube but have different equipment needs. Deciding which comes first helps you spend on the parts you will use immediately, with a clearer plan for what to add later.

A manageable tube starts with a well-matched mount.
The tube is 690mm long and 179mm in diameter. Published weight is 5.9kg, including the rings and finder. Rings and a Vixen-style rail are supplied for attachment to a compatible saddle.
Allow for every accessory when assessing mount capacity, especially if you intend to add a camera, filter hardware and guiding equipment. Check storage and transport space as well as payload. A setup that is comfortable to assemble is easier to use whenever a clear evening appears.
What does 750mm mean at the eyepiece?
Magnification is the telescope focal length divided by the eyepiece focal length. With this tube, a 25mm eyepiece gives 30× and a 10mm gives 75×. These examples help you plan an eyepiece selection; eyepieces are purchased separately.
Begin with a lower-power view to find and frame an object, then increase magnification when the atmosphere and target allow. Higher magnification is not automatically a better view: a steady, well-focused image is more useful than one enlarged beyond what the conditions support.

Fine focus for observing and camera work.
The linear-bearing Crayford focuser provides coarse and fine manual adjustment, with an adapter for 1.25-inch accessories. Approach focus with the main control, then refine it using the fine adjustment.
For imaging, use short exposures or a focus measurement to judge the result. Support the camera while fitting it, secure the connections, and keep cables from pulling against the focuser as the telescope moves. Check motor and bracket compatibility separately if you plan to add autofocus.

A finder to help you learn your way around.
The supplied 6×30 straight-through finder gives a separate view for pointing the telescope. Align it with the main tube before relying on it during a session.
Use a low-power eyepiece when moving from the finder to the telescope. For a camera-based setup, the finder remains a pointing aid; it does not provide tracking or autoguiding. Those functions require their own equipment.
Plan camera framing before buying adapters.
Enter your camera sensor and a 750mm focal length into a field-of-view planner. Test several intended targets and decide whether you want a close composition or more surrounding sky.
The same telescope frames differently with different sensor sizes. This check helps establish whether the combination suits your projects before you invest in the rest of the imaging train.
A complete imaging train includes a coma corrector.
A compatible coma corrector is required for optimum photographic results and is not included. Match its supported sensor size and mechanical connections to the camera, then follow its specified corrector-to-sensor spacing.
Include any filter drawer or wheel in that plan and confirm that the assembled system reaches focus. Corrector spacing and telescope focus are separate adjustments. Send us your camera and proposed accessories if you would like help checking the combination.
Keep alignment checks part of the routine.
Check collimation with a suitable tool, particularly after transport, and allow the telescope to settle towards outdoor conditions. Start an imaging session with short star-field exposures so you can inspect focus and star shapes before collecting a long sequence.
Make one adjustment at a time and note the result. A repeatable setup is more useful than changing several things at once and losing track of what improved the image.

Common questions
Is this a complete beginner telescope package?
No. It is an optical tube package. You need a suitable mount and either eyepieces or an imaging system. Tell us what you already own and what you want to observe so the missing pieces can be identified before ordering.
How should I compare it with the 6-inch f/4?
Compare camera framing, physical size, mounting needs and your observing priorities. This f/5 model has a longer focal length, giving higher magnification with the same eyepiece. Neither focal ratio removes the need to check alignment and plan your accessories.
Can I start visually and add a camera later?
Yes, provided you plan the mount and optical connections for that later use. A mount suited to casual visual observing is not automatically suitable for long exposures, so consider the intended upgrade before buying the first setup.
