The Pleiades 68 Astrograph by William Optics is a pinnacle of engineering and design, tailored specifically for the discerning astrophotographer. This instrument marries high-end optical performance with ease of use, making it an excellent choice for both seasoned astronomers and those new to the field. Here's a detailed look into its offerings:

Optical Excellence

  • Triple-element Super ED APO Lens: The heart of the Pleiades 68 Astrograph is its 7-element lens design, incorporating three Super Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements. This configuration is meticulously designed to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations, delivering images with superb clarity, contrast, and color fidelity.
  • Fast Focal Ratio: With an aperture of f/3.8, the telescope provides a wide, bright field of view. This fast focal ratio is ideal for astrophotography, enabling shorter exposure times to capture detailed images of deep-sky objects under less-than-perfect light conditions.

User-Friendly Features

  • Integrated Field Flattener: The Pleiades 68 is engineered with a built-in field flattener to ensure edge-to-edge sharpness across the full frame. This feature simplifies setup and use, as there's no need for external flatteners or correctors.
  • Versatile Camera Adaptation: It comes equipped with both M48 and M54 adapters, offering compatibility with a wide range of cameras. This versatility ensures that astrophotographers can easily integrate their existing equipment without additional expense or complication.
  • Lightweight and Portable: Weighing in at 8.38lbs (3.8kg), the telescope is designed for portability. Its compact size and manageable weight make it an ideal companion for field observations or for those with limited space.

Aesthetic and Durable Design

  • Sleek Aesthetics: The Pleiades 68 is not only a tool for exploration but also a work of art. Its sleek, modern design is as pleasing to the eye as the images it captures are to the viewer.
  • Durable Construction: Built to withstand the rigors of field use, the telescope features a robust construction. High-quality materials ensure longevity and consistent performance, whether used in a backyard or at a remote dark-sky location.

Conclusion

The William Optics Pleiades 68 Astrograph stands out as a premier choice for astrophotography enthusiasts. By combining exceptional optical quality with user-centric design and features, it offers an unmatched observing experience. Whether you're capturing the delicate wisps of a nebula, the sprawling grandeur of a galaxy, or the intricate cluster of stars, the Pleiades 68 brings the universe to your fingertips with precision and ease.

Attention:
This telescope model does not feature an internal M48 filter thread due to its proximity to the second lens group near the camera adapter. This design choice prevents interference with the lenses within the telescope tube, making direct attachment of a 48mm filter challenging.
For optimal results, we recommend using a filter wheel attached to either M48 or M54 thread.
This ensures seamless filter usage without compromising the telescope's optical performance.

Critical Backfocus Information:
The recommended backfocus for our 68 telescope is precisely 55mm. Given its fast F ratio, maintaining an exact 55mm backfocus is crucial for optimal performance.
Please ensure accurate adjustment to enhance the sensitivity and overall functionality of your telescope.
