The ZWO ASI178MC features an exciting 1/1.8″, 6.4M pixels IMX178 sensor with SONY STARVIS and Exmor R technology. The result is an extremely low read noise of 2.2e, high sensitivity, and 14bit ADC, ensuring excellent performance for various astro photography and microscopy applications.

High-Speed Connectivity and Versatility

The ASI178MC camera comes with USB3.0 connection, providing compatibility with newer laptops and backward compatibility with USB2.0. Its high framerates allow you to capture more details in your images. Please note that there is no USB 2.0 version of this camera, as it wouldn't support the camera's possible high framerate. For the best results, we recommend using it with USB3.0 compatible hardware to achieve very high framerates.
